Waterproofing sprays come in a variety of shapes and sizes. So we’re here to narrow your decision down because you deserve only the best. There’s nothing worse than your outdoor activities being ruined due to wet feet and sodden shoes. It’s time to say goodbye to disappointment and say hello to splashing about without a care in the world.

What is a waterproof spray?

Our Teflon based waterproof spray is a liquid that is sprayed onto any shoe which creates a protective layer, allowing you to wear your shoes and keep your feet dry in any weather.

How does it work?

A waterproofing spray works by providing outstanding protection from the elements, including dirt, water, mud etc. Teflon technology has unique properties (not limited to kitchen equipment). It’s low corrosion and abrasion, high temperature resistant, non-stick abilities and most importantly for us, it is water-resistant. What’s great about this one is that it won’t harden or discolour your shoes. It’s free from harmful alcohols which will prolong the lifespan of your shoes, through good and bad weather days.

What materials does it work best on?

Leather, breathable materials and canvas - all of which we have here at Shumaker.

How do you apply it?

Spray your shoes all-over, holding it 20-30cm away. To ensure the best results always follow the directions on the label. Please be careful and don’t spray too close as this may leave marks on your perfect shoes!

Are My Shoes Waterproof?

To make your life that little bit easier, keep an eye out when buying shoes for materials that are naturally water-resistant. This will help when it comes to waterproofing your shoes and will keep you protected, warm and dry for as long as possible.

Materials that repel water include: synthetic leather, wool and gore-tex. If your shoes have any of these components then it’s likely that they will keep you dry without any extra help. However, most shoes are made from leather, suede or canvas which are not waterproof materials. They are all materials that need an extra bit of help in wet weather, if left wet they may rot, lose their shape and generally just be ruined.

Look after your beloved shoes with some waterproofing spray and give them the love and special treatment that they deserve.
